Purpose: to assist the Operations Manager at a PGS field office in recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and controlling the grounds and snow operations at the field office. In the absence of a full-time Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager will be the Acting Operations Manager. This position will also be assigned a daily crew to supervise and lead.

In conjunction with the Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for managing the field office staff. This includes, but is not limited to:

Training employees

Scheduling the work of employees; and

Coaching employees

The Assistant Operations Manager shall also make recommendations regarding the hire, discipline and termination of field office staff.

In addition to managing staff, the Assistant Operations Manager shall use his/her independent judgment and discretion to inventory and order operation materials and equipment, manage the budget for the field office, ensure maintenance of vehicles and equipment is properly maintained, and perform other services as needed.

This position requires an experienced supervisor who understands the grounds and snow industry and the ability to manage and direct multiple employees.

Hours of the position are as agreed upon by the Assistant Operations Manager and the Operations Manager, and as dictated by weather and work loads, but generally are expected to be between 45-55 hours per week April-November, and 35-45 hours per week December –March depending on snow.
