Kelly is seeking a
CNC Machinist / Haas Lathe Programmer to workat Ford Motor Company in Livonia, MI for a long term contract. Pay = $30 / hr - $33 / hr Hours: 6 am - 2:30 pm(OT as needed) Required:- High School Diploma / GED
- 1-3 yrs experience in with CNC Machining & Hass Lathe programming
- Experience with Inspection Tools (micrometers, gauges, indicators)
- Experience with Mastercam (preferred)
- Setup and operate 1.6M & 2.0M CNC or Lathe Form Gear
- Operate overhead crane to load/unload machine
- Operate controls, program, edit programs
- Perform inspection of parts in progress and upon completion
- Support all quality initiatives
- Produce quality parts
- Meet drawing and routing requirements
- Developing and working with gear cutting processes including hobbing, shaping, including programming of CNC gear machines
- Operating a Klingenberg gear inspection techniques and chart interpretation
- Editing programs in G and M codes.
- Able to look at a CNC control screen and know what you are looking at and whether it makes sense how to edit the programs using the G and M codes where necessary
- Perform all required inspection duties to include 1st piece and in-process, determining defects and ensure quality is met according to prints
- Numerous setups and changeovers.
- Run small to large parts. Parts can be anywhere from 3 to 15 , 20 or larger
- Heavy use of inspection tools. Our operators inspect their own work for quality. We do not have a Finished Inspection dept. so it s the operator s responsibility to make sure the piece they just produced is up to spec. Have to understand tolerances
- Operation of CNC Computer Numerically Controlled Mills and/or Lathes to machine precision machined parts at very close tolerance for aerospace, medical and automotive industry
- Sets up and operates one or more gear shaping machines to machine splines or gear teeth in metal blanks, according to machining instructions and
- Reads machining instructions or blueprints to define machine settings, holding fixtures and cutters to use and gear type, dimensions, tolerances, and number of teeth to be cut shaped
- Perform Gear Inspection using programmable Gear Inspection equipment and using hand tools micrometers, indicators, gages etc.
- Review the data generated at the end of gear inspection.
- Take necessary corrective actions to ensure accurate inspection results are provided

- Maintain record of inspections and prepare list of defects.
- Interact with customers to ensure compliance with specification and to facilitate acceptance of Prototype Gears.
