Job Title: Stockroom Specialist B Job ID: 17076 Job Location: Grand Rapids, MI Job Schedule: 9/80 off Friday; 2nd shift Mon-Fri, 2:30pm -11:30pm Job Description: Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Within parameters, determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost. Consults rate schedule for specific rates depending on method of shipment and/or distance shipped. Assesses most economical and efficient common or contract carrier, to transport shipments. Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges. May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination. Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments. Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements. May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates. Essential Functions:

Responsible for the continuous supply of parts and materials to all production, assembly, and repair section of the Grand Rapids MI plant.

Responsible for “kitting” materials on the production line to ensure all parts of order required are at the point of origination to keep the line moving at a steady pace.

Ensures correct parts are kept in the appropriate quantities to support production and assembly requirements.

Process, pick, and issue point of use and Kanban materials to all production areas.

Expediting and moving production parts; picking parts for point of use and Kanban; deal with and address shortages and urgent issues affecting production.

Complete cycle counts

Unpackage all materials moving to the production floor inside the stockroom ensuring that cardboard, packing materials, and other debris remains off the plant floor.

Maintain inventory accuracy within the floor locations and stockroom while working with other stockroom employees to address inventory variations and adjustments.

Maintain and update point of use, Kanban, and BIN locations within SAP.

Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory as required.

Ability to thrive in fast paced environment; function with minimal direction and take ownership of the responsibility to support all production lines.

The ability to lift and move items (up to 45 lbs.) utilizing proper lifting techniques and material handling aids (e.g., pallet jacks, height adjustable carts, etc.).

Knowledge of safe material handling practices and ability to maintain compliance with L3Harris specific Environment Health and Safety policy/procedure in regard to material handling.

Qualifications:

Requires developing job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience with SAP is a Plus

Current/previous material handling experience in a Lean environment.

Good written and verbal communication skills

Proficient with MS Office applications, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word
