Kubernetes Platform and Automation Architect on contract at Dental Healthcare Client in Lansing, MI (remote for now)

• Communication skills are critical as they will help to set and communicate a technical roadmap.
• Able to clearly communicate and diagram where necessary, highly complex systems.
• Provides vision and strategic oversight during product evaluation, solution prototyping, and proof of concept activities for the platform.
• Evaluates emerging technology trends, competitive products, and business need to set direction and roadmap for future platform growth or buy-vs-build inflection points.
• Creates the processes and standards by which the code reviews will adhere to.
• Mentors others on the appropriate design patterns, testing methodologies and coding objectives to reduce risk in the platform code.
• Provides technical direction for the toolchains and platforms created to support advanced application delivery to the platforms.
• Works closely with the CTO organization and through the ARC/ARB processing to ensure that software, automation toolchains and other Platform centric design patterns are well communicated and adopted by the enterprise.
• Sets technical direction on the implementation of Infrastructure as Code capabilities through the identification of industry standard, supportable technology stacks.
• The ideal candidate will possess strong Linux/Unix OS experience, scripting skills, knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, Azure, AWS, etc.) knowledge of container concepts (e.g., Docker), knowledge of cloud orchestration concepts (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.), and expertise with other Infrastructure deployment tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Terraform, etc.).
