Looking for a floor layers helper

Looking for a general laborer for commercial / residential flooring installations for a small company with a lot of work. We do most of our work in Saline Michigan. Some weeks would be part-time others may be full time. No experience necessary but our ideal candidate will have previous jobs that required them to be self-motivated and hardworking. Heavy lifting is required. You will be required to carry carpet rolls as well as other flooring materials and tools for moderate distances and up flights of stairs at times. Being part of the flooring trade, you will be required to work on your knees for long periods of time. Just to be upfront, this is definitely not an ideal job for somebody with back problems or knee issues. We work around elderly people in assisted living situations. Professionalism is an absolute must in appearance, attitude and work ethic. The tenants we work around regularly or older retired folks that pay a lot of money to live where we work so being friendly and polite as well as creating a safe environment is 100% required.

The only sort of uniform that we require is clean and somewhat stain free khaki or Jean work pants, work boots, plain t-shirts. Ball cap style hats can be worn but with no graphics or words please. We are a professional company and will require nothing less than the same from any employee or subcontractor working with us. This is a non-smoking campus therefore there can be no smoking or vaping at all so the best candidate would be simply a non-smoker. If you have tattoos, you will be required to do your best to cover them while on campus. Any bodily jewelry must be removed.

Some of the job descriptions would include ( any experience in the following would be preferred, if not, to move up in pay quickly you would have to learn and be proficient in them).

Caulking up to baseboard and quarter round.

Cutting and installing quarter round.

Glueing down carpet or plank flooring with a trowel.

Taking up previously glued down carpet.

Carrying boxes of vinyl plank flooring, buckets of glue, rolls of carpet and various tools.

Vacuuming carpet.

Attention to detail is a must.

Our hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Must have reliable transportation as well as pass a drug and background screen.

To sum it up, we are looking for a no-nonsense hardworking person who is known to be at work when required and on time. You will be paid as a subcontractor which means you will be responsible for your own taxes, as well as your own insurance and workman's compensation if you so choose. You're beginning pay for the first week will be minimum $15 per hour. If you work out after the first week or two, your pay will jump to a minimum of $20 per hour. If you prove to be reliable and proficient in these areas previously listed then your pay will be increased to a minimum of $25 per hour.
