Inspects, maintains, repairs and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plant and/or pump stations. Repairs and maintains all types of pumps and other kinds of mechanical equipment or machinery.Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Repairs sewage, sludge and water pumps and any other kind of pumps.Operates drill presses to repair parts to machinery or mechanical devices.Utilizes pipe threaders when necessary. Copper Plumbing, Soldering.Repair chemical feeders and chlorinators. UV Systems.Welds metal pieces to repair metal objects with welding equipment.Fabricates metal parts from metal stock. Sheet Metal Fab and Bend.Cuts metal with acetylene torches. Repair weld equipment.Greases mechanical equipment and plant machinery. P.M.-Maintenance on Equipment.Installs pumps and other mechanical equipment. Fabricate to fit or work.Checks gear boxes, motors and equipment to insure proper operation and fluid levels.Complete predictive and preventative maintenance tasks.Operate Equipment OPS-Crane-Backhoe, Front End Loader, Forklift. Performs related duties as assigned.Performs routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments on machines and related equipment which may include pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed and odor control, disinfection equipment, vacuum filters and belt presses. Promptly reports any operational problems with machines or equipment to Lead or Supervisor.Learns to inspect and becomes proficient at mechanical troubleshooting to determine repairs needed. Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing devices. Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating condition is restored. Learns to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic equipment and instrumentation.Performs facility maintenance and repair and may replace or install light bulbs, florescent tubes, damaged glass, windows, doors, partitions, ceiling or floor tile, door locks, carpet, and/or paint.May perform manual labor including cleaning equipment, facilities and grounds as required and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies. Operates vehicles for plant operational purposes.Learns to estimate time and material costs for various projects. May assist in other areas of plant as directed.Works under direct supervision: Specific instructions are given on assignments or follows written or verbal instructions and established procedures (specifications, blueprints and manuals) and standard practice to perform assigned tasks.Performs a variety of manual functions. Follows established procedures to perform standardized or routine tasks. Must follow established operational, maintenance, safety and emergency response procedures. Must adhere to specifications and schedule. May suggest process improvements.Uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments. Waits for direction for next steps and assignments outside of routine.
