Responsible for monitoring all aspects of the daily production schedules, including E.C.N., planning new product launches, ensuring cycle counts are being completed accurately and coordinating all processing for shipments to and from suppliers. Ensure material processes and labeling requirements are adhered to.

All aspects & functions involved in the application of scheduling and inventory control.

Your Responsibilities

Obtain planning and shipment releases from the customer via EDI, phone, e-mail and fax. Direct communication with customers regarding changes, immediate requirements, and packaging. Advise the appropriate department of any major changes. Work closely with other departments and advise of short notice increases or reductions. Monitor MRP and press schedule daily. Must maintain accurate inventory for finished goods, work in process, outside process, packaging, quality hold and raw stock on a daily basis, through cycle counting. Schedules and prioritize outside processors, control and monitor freight costs. Responsible for all dunnage issues, elimination of repacking, inventory tracking, storage location etc.

Reviews weekly releases to determine when service orders are due and coordinates production of parts. Schedule trucks for internal requirements regarding tooling, proto-types, and equipment moves. Responsible for MMOG compliance and CTPAT Standards. Responsible for Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing and 5S practices. Coordinates inventory cycle counts and physical inventories as needed.

Responsible for balancing all cycle counts to perpetual inventory records and ensuring inventory accuracy. Rectifying discrepancies, by determining root cause and implement corrective action as necessary. Supplier andor Customer visits as needed. Supports Employee Charter and Open Door Process. Demonstrate and promote Core Values. Responsible for planning E.C.N. changes and launch of new products. Performs Layered Process Audits (LPA’s). Leads 8D meetings and champions corrective actions for the Materials group. Leader for Pull System for manufacturing. Performs as the Materials Lead for MAFACT and 5S.

Assure all safety, quality, delivery, cost, environmental, production throughput and budget practices, objectives and improvements are met. Responsible for creating KMI reports for subjects listed. Meet first time through, inventory and scrap objectives.

Participates in continuous improvement activities including MAFACT, submits improvement suggestions. Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to including TS16949, ISO14001 (EMS), and Employee Handbook. Follows MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment).

Manage Shipping & Receiving Hi-lo/Clerks. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of direct reports. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, mentoring and coaching, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Your preferred qualifications

Associate’s degree, 3-5 years of related experience andor training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with automotive related releases, shipping requirements, computer reporting and data entry. Knowledge and understanding of the production and purchasing cycles of a JIT environment. Must have the ability to handle high stress, constant interruptions and direction changes with little or no notice. Experience with CMS, AS400, Outlook and Excel.
