Position Summary:

The Material Coordinator I is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement, tracking, and reporting of raw materials throughout the production process. This role ensures timely delivery of materials to production pods, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Material Coordinator collaborates closely with the production team to monitor material usage, waste metrics, and inventory levels, ensuring smooth production operations and improved efficiency.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Material Management & Distribution:

Ensure timely and accurate replenishment of materials to production pods, maintaining adequate stock levels to prevent disruptions in production.

Manage inventory across various software platforms, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all data entries.

Validate and reconcile inbound material transfers from the warehouse and other departments, confirming correct quantities, color, size, and other specifications.

Inventory Control & Accuracy:

Conduct routine cycle counts and maintain accurate documentation of all inventory movements.

Identify and resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies in material tracking, collaborating with relevant teams.

Ensure compliance with state regulations related to the storage and movement of raw materials.

Production Support & Waste Tracking:

Track and document production waste, analyzing the data to identify patterns, trends, or anomalies, and investigate potential causes to minimize future waste.

Communicate findings and improvement suggestions to management and the production team to enhance operational efficiency.

Data Reporting & Analysis:

Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to material usage, waste, and inventory accuracy, providing regular data reports to management.

Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and state regulations for material storage, tracking, and movement.

Keep detailed records for audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of accuracy in material handling and data entry.

Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory tracking systems, ERP/WMS platforms, and basic computer skills.

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in material handling.

Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of state and internal regulations regarding material management and storage.

Education and Experience:

2+ years of experience in inventory control or a manufacturing environment with responsibilities for inventory tracking and reporting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP, WMS, or other inventory management systems.

High School Diploma or GED required.

Valid Driver's License required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, crouch, and lift up to 60 lbs. unassisted throughout a standard workday.

Capability to work in a fast-paced production environment and perform physical tasks as needed.
