The Material Supervisor will ensure necessary materials inventory to support operational goals. Management of the right parts at the right time and in the right quantities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to supervision of cycle counters, determination, maintenance, accuracy, and control of inventory. Coordinate the successful management of suppliers and subcontractors in collaboration with Sourcing to support supply chain strategy.What Will You Do?

Responsible for control, maintenance, accuracy, disposition and optimization of inventory to support operational goals.

Execute ABC cycle counting program through supervision of cycle counters, implement control processes and recording, and communicate measurements to ensure efficient production operations.

Plan, analyze and determine accurate inventory levels to maximize supply chain efficiency.

Direct Receiving and Transfer Truck operations team.

Direct warehouse, inventory and material handling operations team.

Manage DOWN notification response process with material planners.

Ensure inventory transactions, engineering changes, scrap reporting, and obsolescence disposition to optimize MRP efficiency.

Oversight of vendor performance to support manufacturing goals.

Escalating and correcting issues with poor performing suppliers while working with the corporate sourcing team.

Communicate demand changes to suppliers.

Manage and maintain Open Order report for accuracy as well as manage and maintain Exception Messages within SAP while collaborating with the material planners.

Supervise and support direct reports through training, pay adjustments, vacation and overtime scheduling and performance feedback and discipline in a manner that is fair, uniform, and consistent with Company procedures and collective bargaining agreement.

Create and implement individual goals and development plans for material planners.

Support safety through personal behaviors, ensuring direct reports are trained to work in a safe manner, consistently enforce safety rules and procedures, and provide proactive feedback related to safety observations with any/all employees.

Maintain accurate inventory records to include inventory records and shipping and receiving documents.

Work with customer and supplier plants to ensure accurate in transit inventory.

Create and maintain standard work and store in DCS.

Accountable for Material Master accuracy in SAP utilizing PFEP methodology.

Responsible for scheduled review of kanban levels, SS, MOQ, LT.

Responsible for reviewing ECM actions and delegating to appropriate team member.

Lead and apply Lean Manufacturing principles to the workplace through actions of self and direct reports.

All other tasks and projects as assigned to support site operations.

What Will You Need?

Bachelor’s degree preferred with three (3) years materials/inventory control experience; minimal education high school diploma and five (5) years’ materials/inventory control experience will be considered .

Two (2) years of supervisory experience required .

Experience in a unionized environment desired.

Highly self-motivated and directed, able to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently, attend to details and meet deadlines.

Strong organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible, adaptable and change priorities in a fast-paced work environment of a seasonal business, allowing for optimum effectiveness.

Ability to anticipate problems and take necessary action to minimize likelihood and impact of problems.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including listening and offering positive and constructive feedback.

Proficient written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds at all levels of organization and work with cross-functional teams.

Able to overcome obstacles using positive facilitation, teamwork, and influence through building and maintaining relationships.

Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in solving difficult tasks.

Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SAP preferred.

APICS and LEAN certifications desired.
