Job Description: Apex Systems, the nation's second largest IT Staffing Agency, has an immediate need for a Mechanical Technician supporting one of our Government Clients in Warren, MI. We are Seeking Mechanical Technicians and Heavy Mechanics with 6-10+ years of commercial or military experience. Ideal candidates will be proficient in system troubleshooting, installation, use of various tools on light or heavy duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, ground systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.

Location: Warren, MI

Shift: 7am - 4pm

Job Description:

  • Currently, our client is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mechanics to join our Vehicle Engineering Maintenance and Operations Support (VEMOS) team. The selected candidate will assist in providing sustainment support services (operational engineering and logistics support) globally for some 25,000 vehicles including the Army's Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles, or MRAPs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 6 years of experience.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven maintenance, repair and technical experience and background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance.
  • Maintenance support includes operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
  • Proficient with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters.
  • Effectively applies industry and/or military standard troubleshooting procedures to isolate faulty system components.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with, for, and/or in support of the Department of Defense.
  • Prior training and/or maintenance experience on MRAP/RCV systems preferable.
  • Preferred areas of experience may be with light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, ground systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.
