Description Remote Medical Coder- ContractWe are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our team in the healthcare industry, located in Flint, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for assigning ICD-9 diagnosis and/or CPT and HCPCS procedure codes, assisting in the credentialing process for providers, and performing checks on medical provider medical record documentation. This role offers a competitive rate of up to $20 per hour.While the position is remote, all employees must commute two times to Flint, MI for orientation/equipment pick-up and equipment drop-off.Responsibilities: Assigning ICD-9 diagnosis and/or CPT and HCPCS procedure codes to medical records Reporting and tracking incomplete documentation Assisting in the credentialing process for providers Assisting with pre-claim system edits produced due to coding issues Assisting with third-party payer denials due to code assignment Performing checks on medical provider medical record documentation, financial information, and employee performance to monitor compliance Assisting in implementing a Compliance plan to ensure correct coding and billing Identifying specific coding risk areas and strategies to promote accuracy and compliance Reporting findings directly to the supervisor.Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Coding. Proficient knowledge of EHR systems. Experience with Billing Functions in a healthcare setting a plus. Expertise in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 Codes. Ability to Diagnose Problems effectively. Certified in Medical Coding.
