This diversity of professionals allows us to provide innovative & impactful solutions to the Life Sciences and Food & Bev industry in an era where speed, quality, and creativity have never been more critical. How will I contribute?You will focus on the design and engineering of power, lighting, grounding/bonding, special systems (e.g., telephone/data, security, fire alarm), raceway, cable tray, and other electrical control and building support systems into the built work environment.You will manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities, and be responsible for overseeing the Electrical discipline scope of work and discipline budget on small to medium projects of intermediate complexity. You will coordinate with internal and external architects and engineers, as well as clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers.Typical tasks and deliverables include power load, illumination, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations; basis of design reports, code evaluations; one-line diagrams; plans; schedules; installation details; specifications; and coordination with manufacturers and construction trade partners. Tasks will include utilizing software for building information modeling, computer-aided drafting, and engineering calculations. Project work includes directing design activities for all levels of design such as studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. Responsibilities:Design electrical systems of intermediate complexity in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines.Work closely with other architects, engineers, and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible, and complete design.Coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturersDevelop narratives, reports, and construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on small projects of intermediate complexity and with little oversightSupport of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reportsPlan and direct work and manage a project electrical design budget on small to medium-sized projects of intermediate complexitySupport proposal development under the supervision of a Lead or Senior EngineerIdentify basic non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveysDevelop basic internal electrical design and engineering training presentationsUtilize various platforms to execute work, such as Microsoft Office products and available BIM software.Attend professional development activitiesLead quality check efforts for small projects of intermediate complexity and drive overall project qualityProvide mentorship to less experienced Electrical Engineers and/or DesignersLead systems design programming and master planning on intermediate projects with support from Design Lead or Senior EngineerMay work on one or more projects simultaneously as directed by a Supervisor.Office Location: Kalamazoo, MIWork Mode: Hybrid - 3-4 days per week in office expected
