Our client is looking for a .NET Developer in support of a development initiatives. This role will support development efforts for MDE’s Student Assessment and Accountability applications and it will help develop new enhancements and supporting existing functionality and will be a member of an Agile development team of 6-7 developers. This position functions as a senior application developer, within a team of technology professionals. This position helps with design, development, testing, and on-going enhancements that support the Michigan Department of Education and the following agency systems of Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS) and Michigan Education Information System (MEIS). This position is responsible for participation on application development projects which focus on achieving the goals and mission of the agency. This position has responsibilities in all phases of the software development lifecycle related to these systems.

NOTE: Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. Position will be ON-SITE with hybrid model (2 days a week) to start. Must be on-site in Lansing Michigan on Day One. Location: Lansing, MIContract: 1+ years

Skills Required:
  • 6 years - Experience in the IT Profession including analysis, design, programming, implementing and supporting web-based applications.
  • 6 years - Experience as ASP.NET application developer
  • 3 years - Developing Systems with Microsoft SQL Server database.
  • 3-4 years - Writing SQL
  • 4 years - C# development skills
  • 3 years - Visual Basic programming experience
  • 3 years - JavaScript
  • 3 years - HTML 5 or higher
  • 2 years - CSSS 3 or higher
  • Experience developing data driven applications
  • Experience in Agile Software Development.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher (Please provide info on resume)

Skills Desired – A plus to have:
  • 2 years - Developing API / WCF Web Services are Highly Desired
  • 1 year - Experience in .NET Core is Highly Desired
  • 1 year - Experience with source code repository and work item tracking. Eg. (TFS, Microsoft’s DevOps, GitHub)
  • 1 year - Experience with Microsoft’s DevOps
  • 1 year - Agile Software Development Lifecycle
  • 1 year - Experience with a reporting tool
