Scope of Services:The Wayne Airport Authority is seeking a full-time, qualified IoT Network Engineer who will utilizetheir knowledge, skills, and abilities to: Actively participate in a fluid and collaborative environment with the ability to influenceand change the direction of the product. Employ your development skills by delivering innovative features on Linux based IoTappliance(s). Ensure quality and performance through regular reviews, proactive monitoring, andactive testing. Provide support for platform-related issues; triage and resolve issues reported byinternal teams. Assist with researching, testing and evaluating best-of-breed products formicroelectronic hardware to be used to create a smart airport environment bycombining operational digital twins at WCAA. Assist with product evaluations, data collection, and solution integrations that collectdata at the access control platform or the physical layer. Assist with development and system engineering associated with platformdevelopment. Cisco IoT / Cisco Jasper /LoRaWAN /Wi-Fi 6e /5G are the ideal infrastructuretechnologies WCAA will leverage to build a technology foundation that all othersensors and solutions will be based upon. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individualswith disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education:Education Level Education Details Req PrefBachelor's Degree Computer or Electrical Engineering, or similar field XMasters Degree Computer or Electrical Engineering, or similar field XQualifications:Experience Details Req Pref0-10 years total experience, preferably with 3+ years recent experiencewith IoT or similar X3+ years’ experience with Internet of Things (IoT), SCADA or in theindustrial or operational sensor spaceX2+ years’ experience with Programmable Logic Controllers X1+ years’ experience developing commercial software applications X1+ years’ experience developing backend solutions on Linux OS XFirm understanding of Linux fundamentals XExperience developing sensing platforms, with the ability to executeproduct evaluations, POCs, technology pilots, and system integrationsXExperience with communication protocols HiveMQ, EtherNet/IP, OPCUA, WiFi 6e, 5G, GPS, LoRaWAN, etc.XDoD 8570.1 certification (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent) XExperience in Agile, Scrum, and/or PMI Methods XFamiliar with Software Life Cycle Management (SLCM) and softwarebest practicesXExperience working with web-based video, including HTTP-LiveStreaming (HLS), RTSP, WebRTC and MP4XExperience with cloud solutions and technologies, including IoT, andvideo annotation and AI Experience in one or more specific IoT / M2M industries, such as homeautomation, asset tracking, smart sensor technologies, etc.XExperience building solutions that are capable of high throughput andcan scale gracefullyXExperience with Linux system administration XExperience with AWS or Azure would be a strong plus XNetwork Engineer experience preferred XSkills & Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of a variety of hardware sensors and micro-electronics. A self-starter who enjoys tackling new problems and delivering innovative solutions. Likes working closely with their team members in a fluid agile environment. Is energized by understanding the customer and delivering solutions. Relational SQL skills with the ability to design and troubleshoot existing databases andqueries. Understands the concepts of REST and resource-oriented architectures. Ability to fluently translate designs into well-engineered solutions. Have a sense of pride in getting a story over the line. Can talk-the-talk and walk-the-walk of HTTP interfaces/APIs, networking, threading andconcurrency. Ability to engage with users in a professional manner and plainly present technicalconcepts. Agility and comfort with changing requirements and frequent customer feedback. Be located in SE Michigan or willing to relocate to SE Michigan if offered position.
