Registered Nurse opportunity as a The Nurse Manager, Patient Care Services for the Virtual connected care and Central Monitoring department serves as a member of the Ministry Organization’s nursing leadership team.
The Virtual Nurse (VRN) Team at Trinity Health Ann Arbor is currently comprised of experienced Registered Nurses who apply the Caritas principles through their interactions with patients to support bedside care teams. The VRN team currently support inpatient nursing units, The role of the VRN includes performing admission documentation, education, discharge education, purposeful rounding, attending interdisciplinary rounds, and reviewing the electronic medical record for key quality metrics.
The VRN manager role supports these nurses in their work, acts as a liaison between the VRN team and inpatient unit managers, participates in Trinity Health Together Team meetings at the local and national level, ensures role requirements are being met, and other managerial tasks.
The Central Monitoring Technicians monitors and observe a group of patients remotely using continuous tele-visual monitoring to assure patient safety. Staff on this unit have additional duties related to patient monitoring and equipment maintenance in the central station and on the patient care units.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsible for day-to-day operations, scheduling, staffing and providing 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services. Participates in and supports strategic development and outcomes management of nursing clinical areas.
Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating safe, superior and preeminent quality patient care to ensure the advancement of clinical practice and patient care for a nursing unit.
Serves as a member of the nursing leadership team to participate in the development of the nursing strategic plan, short and long term goals and objectives, standards of care and operating plans for the assigned clinical area(s).
Collaborates with members of the inter-professional team and unit staff in the development, implementation, and monitoring of unit operating and capital budgets.
Develops, implements, and manages ongoing measurement, action planning, and evaluation methods related to all dimensions of performance inclusive of colleague engagement, patient and family experience, workplace safety, healthy work environments, clinical outcome and financial performance targets for the assigned clinical area(s).
Develops, implements, and monitors plans related to education and required competencies, orientation, retention, cultural competence, conflict management, and coaching of colleagues to ensure safe, quality, patient care for the assigned clinical area(s).
Ensures the recruitment, retention, development, mentoring and succession planning of engaged patient care colleagues within the assigned clinical area(s). Develops, promotes, and implements an environment of shared leadership and decision making.
Participates in evaluating, selecting and integrating health care technology and information systems that support patient care.
In collaboration with the Director of Nursing and inter-professional team members, facilitates, develops, directs, manages, and monitors the implementation of effective evidence-based programs, policies, and protocols, to measure, analyze and continuously improve the safety and quality of patient care in the assigned clinical area(s).
Communicates and collaborates on a regular basis with nursing leaders, colleagues, inter-professional team about achievements and concerns related to patient safety, quality, patient loyalty, colleague engagement, and satisfaction. Develops and implements action plans to address concerns.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
State of Michigan Registered Nursing license required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree required. Appropriate Master's Degree in Nursing, Business or Health Administration preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years clinical nursing or leadership experience at the unit level in a related health care setting.
