Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller in the automotive manufacturing industry, located in Warren, Michigan. The role involves overseeing all aspects of financial management, plant accounting, standard cost accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation. You will also be responsible for reviewing and developing internal control policies and procedures as well as performing financial risk management. Responsibilities: Oversee and organize the company's accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition, GL and Counsel. Develop measures to optimize existing technical accounting issues. Design and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls. Lead the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and prepare reports on the results. Supervise the company's month-end and year-end close processes. Perform quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Oversee the preparation of regulatory reporting. Create timely monthly financial statements and present them to the company's executives and top managers. Ensure compliance with state reporting requirements, applicable laws, and tax filings. Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Office to manage and analyze financial data. Apply standard cost accounting methods to manage costs and revenues. Requirements Must possess at least 5 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing accounting and finance. Proven experience with Accounting Software Systems (ERP) Solid understanding of Accounting Functions Experience in Annual Budget planning and execution Ability to conduct Auditing and manage Budget Processes effectively Expertise in Standard Cost Accounting is a must Proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation is required Candidates must be able to legally work in the country without requiring must be eligible to work in the U.S. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis are needed Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office Suite, are required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
