Embedded Platform System Engineer

Dearborn, MI (Hybrid)

$115,000+ (D.O.E.)

Full-Time (40 hours/week)

We are unable to provide sponsorship for this opportunity As Platform Systems Engineer for this Fortune 25 automotive company, you will have the opportunity to join an innovative team that is booming with opportunity and room for growth.You will be blending your knowledge of systems and C embedded software engineering to help build out this organization’s focus on model-based systems design and implementation for their next generation vehicle architecture. This includes the process of deriving functional level requirements from feature level requirements & utilizing a model-based systems engineering approach to define individual functions, use cases, sequence diagrams, etcIf you are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and who is looking to expand your knowledge in engineering and the automotive industry, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in model-based controls or software development in C/C
  • 1+ years of AUTOSAR BSW experience (Communication Services, Memory Services, System Services and Complex Device Drivers) and authoring tools such as: Vector DaVinci Configurator, Vector DaVinci Developer, PREEvision
  • 1+ years of experience with electrical architectures, electrical systems, and automotive network topologies
  • 1+ years of experience in requirement development and component/vehicle level testing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in AUTOSAR software development/integration projects
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and AUTOSAR
  • Experience with Failure Mode Avoidance techniques and ISO 26262 functional safety disciplines
  • Working knowledge of modeling, simulation, and testing techniques
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of CAN and Ethernet based In-vehicle Network protocols and processes, and experience in using Network tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, ValueCAN, Ethernet tools)
  • Knowledge of Human Factors, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI)

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to the embedded platform system and software design, formulating solutions for how applications interface with the platform capability via SOA services
  • Work with software engineering teams to implement system requirements
  • Collaborate with simulation teams to virtually validate the embedded platform, including non-motion and motion-related applications
  • Define an architecture footprint of overall vehicle so it can be rapidly deployed for a software defined vehicle to realize the growing application ecosystem
  • Use industry leading systems modeling tools in a collaborative Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment to run engineering analysis for design decisions, evaluation, and requirements verification
  • Continuously check model consistency and track design progress with metrics
