Acts as aquality consultant and subject matter expert. Responsible for uncoveringopportunities for improvement through data collection/analysis and observationof processes of care. Accountable for data pertaining to assigned clinicaloutcomes. Assists with, and coordinates, ongoing data management and monitoringof clinical performance and compliance with standards/guidelines of healthcareregulatory and reimbursement agencies. Responsible for managing, summarizingand analyzing data, creating customized reports, and providing level of supportneeded by internal customers.Essential Functionsand Responsibilities:

Assists in the development of goals and objectives,policies, procedures and protocols as they relate to the performanceimprovement.

Abstracts, compiles, analyzes, and evaluates data toidentify patterns or trends, using statistical processes and controls andvarious databases or software programs.

Supports in resolving identified concerns or trendsthrough facilitation, coordination, education, monitoring and evaluation.

Serves as facilitator/ team/member leader for assignedquality improvement teams and or committees.

Creates and prepares reports using statistics andgraphics which detail quality, appropriateness and consistency with bestpractices.

Communicates performance improvement activities toexecutive leaders through presentations or reports.

Researches literature or external benchmarks/data and surveyslike hospitals in support of performance improvement.

Oversees development, and or design, and or maintenanceof databases.

Educates medical and hospital staff regardingperformance improvement methodology, tools and measurement.

Ensuresthat the use and retention of data meets established peer review andconfidentiality policies.

Maintainsprofessional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewin professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating inprofessional societies.

Performsother related duties as required and directed.
