Job Description

The main responsibility for the Sales Product Manager is the commercial success of the Electric Drives & Controls Welding product line in the North American market. The Product Manager for Welding will act as the technical sales expert, with heavy emphasis on the launch of our PRC 7000 Welding platform.

  • Define and implement the Weld Go to Market (Play to Win) Strategy for North America
  • Drive Portfolio, Drive & Enable Sales (Hardware, Software, Services)
  • Coordinate Weld Sales forecasting for North America
  • Developing and executing comprehensive marketing plans for the assigned products
  • Coordinate with the North American regional sales organization, authorized Distribution channel, and integrator networks; and collaborate cross functionally with Marketing, Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics, Accounting, Service and Quality functions
  • Analyze the North American market for growth potential and identify existing and new customers and market areas to pursue
  • Present customer requests, competitive landscape, and industry trends to the global Product Management group
  • Adapt and improve sales tools; participate in speaking engagements and trade shows; and coordinate product launches
  • Develop market pricing and simplified pricing model for North America
  • Required travel is up to 50%
  • Product Managers are expected to maintain technical competence by exercising an active learning mindset, embracing new processes and systems, and contributing to a continuous improvement environment
  • Develop and provide sales training to internal and external customers
  • Effective communication at all levels in the organization
  • Manage the product life cycle and coordinate the product phase in/out including roll out plan
  • Coordinate Weld Timer forecasting for North America to production plant

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a 4-year degree with 5 years related technical experience
  • 7 years relevant experience with automation products in Sales, Marketing, Engineering or Product Management
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to analyze data and use results to formulate actionable plans to drive sales
  • Public speaking experience and strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to coordinate and work in cross functional and cross border teams
  • Understand competitor, partner, and customer eco-system

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Rexroth products
  • German language skills are not required but differentiates the candidate
  • Experience with SAP desirable
  • Suitable knowledge of primary served industry segments (Assembly, Automotive, EV/Battery)
