Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports.This role in summaryCurrently, Whirlpool Corporation is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Financial Analyst - Benefits Accounting position located at our global headquarters in Benton Harbor Michigan. This individual is a key member of the Corporate Controller function. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team. This position is an ideal stepping stone for a career-focused individual to join our Corporate team. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and have experience in financial accounting.However, we will provide training for the specific aspects of share and equity accounting relevant to Whirlpool. This individual will work closely with and interact with multiple stakeholders in driving company-wide performance. Working directly with international teams across Whirlpool, including Internal Reporting, Policies and Procedures, Corporate and Regional Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Tax, Treasury, Regional Finance, and Operational Finance to deliver monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables as well as driving opportunities to enhance the external reporting processes. #LI-DD1Your responsibilities will include

Reporting and Analysis

Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities and reconciliations under US GAAP

Manage employee contribution-related accruals to ensure accurate accounting and reporting

Oversee pension accounting activities, including calculations, reconciliations, and disclosure preparation of the Whirlpool’s 10-Q and 10-K filings

Handle share and equity accounting items, including stock-based compensation calculations and disclosure requirements

Review financial results to ensure reasonability and consistency with overall financial objective

Manage outlook and budgeting processes for Corporate Controller’s function to enable strategic decision making

Support the related SOX control environment for financial reporting and proactively monitor evolutions in the financial reporting landscape

Assist with special projects for significant accounting transactions

Manage and drive process efficiency

Deliver continuous improvements in the financial reporting processes to drive simplification and overall reduction to the processing and cycle time

Drive improvements in key financial processes to optimize efficiency

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management or Business

3+ years experience in financial accounting

Preferred skills and experiences

Knowledge of US GAAP

Experience with financial accounting & SAP

Understanding of financial analytics

Highly organized and results-oriented with demonstrated experience managing cross-enterprise processes

Strong business problem-solving, communication, leadership, and project management skills

Ability to build relationships across business units and corporate functions to drive change

Work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment under strict deadlines
