POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Modeling Specialist is responsible for creating 3D models for use in high-end rendering, real time, and low poly apps and experiences. The Senior is also responsible for building new skills to be up to date with all technologies and software.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Senior Modeling Specialist will work under the Modeling Team Manager, receiving daily tasks, feedback, and direction from the Manager.
  • The Senior Modeling Specialist will be expected to model 3D geometry where client supplied data is not available or too low quality for high-end visualization
  • Utilize Maya, to model soft parts for interior vehicle (seats, steering wheels, shifter boots, etc.)
  • Create 3D modeled assets ranging from shoes, clothing, and accessories to environments and interior design
  • Create 3D models at varying level of details ranging from high resolution print models to real time mobile app/video game models
  • Utilize DeltaGen, DeltaBatch, and other software products ranging from engineering-grade CAD software (CATIA, NX) and consumer-grade modeling software (Maya, 3D Studio Max) to convert, clean, sort, assemble, model and tessellate data
  • Owns modeling procedures and workflow documentation
  • Owns modeling asset library
  • Preserves pipeline expertise
  • Develop knowledge of modeling, and data preparation procedures and workflows
  • Analyze, comprehend, and configure product variants from multiple reference inputs
  • This role will develop workflows and standards to help create repeatable and measurable tasks.
  • Escalate problems or concerns to project leadership regarding missing reference or data
  • Maintain open and clear communication with project leadership
  • Coordinate workflow within the team and ensure the high quality of services
  • Support department with modeling tasks and/or data preparation
  • Support clients with high end visualization of engineering, design, and/or marketing projects
  • Handles special assignments, investigations, and confidential reports
  • Requires general supervision
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Poly Modeling required.
  • Requires extensive Autodesk Maya skills
  • Ability to model in polygons a must
  • Ability to model in NURBS a must
  • Requires exceptional advanced/high-end poly modeling skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and desire to deliver consistently high-quality work displayed in portfolio
  • Proper understanding of geometry, edge flow, and topology when creating sub-d models is required
  • Requires knowledge of computer-generated image processes
  • Requires ability to efficiently unwrap UVWs for all models created
  • Requires knowledge of high-quality texture baking and texture creation

Preferred
  • Familiar with vehicle build process and feature availability requirements is preferred
  • Knowledge of 3DS Max, Zbrush, and Mudbox a plus.
  • Possessing knowledge of basic rendering and post/comp work a plus
  • Domestic or international travel may be required for this role
  • This role may require work performed outside normal business hours to include nights and weekends
