Job Description:

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the Principal Architect to identify, design and develop strategic network solutions compliant with technical and security policies.
  • Collaborates with other Jackson networking and technical teams and Information Security on new initiatives.
  • Acts as subject matter expert in several Jackson network technologies, including analysis and QA.
  • Determines cost-effective ways to manage the network.
  • Ensures the designs promote ultimate availability and compliance with security standards.
  • Sets the standards for the team in terms of network infrastructure code levels.
  • Develops department design standards.
  • Promotes advancement of automation and orchestration tools across the environment.
  • Ensures Level-4 support to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
  • Mentors other team members and provides technical knowledge transfer via team events.
  • Runs small and medium projects from start to finish in accordance with department processes.
  • Provides management level recommendations for optimization, budget, new technology.
  • Participates in rotating on-call operational support as well as project deployments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco switch and router hardware (ASR 9000 and Nexus 9000 and 7000 series).
  • Experience and Background with Enterprise Network Automation and Orchestration.
  • In-depth knowledge of LAN switch technology.
  • Expert knowledge of IPv4 and familiarity with IPv6.
  • Expert knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
  • In-depth knowledge of Wireless technology.
  • Expert knowledge of VPN technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with QoS.
  • Experience with SDN (Cisco ACI and/or VMWare NSX)
  • Fair understanding of Firewall technology.
  • In-depth Layer 4-7 switching experience.
  • Direct experience with the following technologies:
  • Cisco NX-OS, IOS and ASA
  • Infoblox
  • F5 (Big IP)
  • Cisco ISE
  • VOIP technology
  • Authentication services
  • DWDM technologies (Difficult to get the expertise)
  • Network Management tools (Cisco DNAC,SolarWinds, Statseeker)
  • Perl, Python, C or other scripting languages
  • In-depth traffic monitoring and analysis (Netscout, Wireshark, tcpdump, Gigamon).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project coordination skills.
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to interpret impact of technology decisions.
  • Ability to make effective decisions quickly with limited information.
  • ITIL working knowledge with Incident, Change, Problem management tools.

Certifications
  • ITILV3 (preferred)
  • CCNP – R&S, DC (preferred)
  • CISSP (preferred)
  • CCNA R&S (required)
