SQL Database Administrator, Senior

As a Senior SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the daily operation of our database systems. The role is influential in bringing forward great ideas and advancing the Database Platforms. You will install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database systems. There is also a heavy focus on automation and PowerShell as well as the opportunity to work with other database professionals and support a variety of Microsoft SQL Server technologies, including SQL Server Reporting Services in a virtualized Microsoft Windows Server environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience is required
• Proficient in documenting technical processes and procedures
• 8+ years of proven track record in database administration, including mastery of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, ETL processes and tools, stored procedures and functions
• Working knowledge of MS Azure
• Advanced skills in managing MS SQL Server instances used with SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS
• Experience or background in Progress and relational database structure would be beneficial
• Proven experience with scripting languages including T-SQL and PowerShell, query and index tuning, relational database security design concepts, reporting systems, and data modeling
• Act as a reference point for others on database schema design, SQL coding, and related tools
• Ability to recommend technical processes, explain technical procedures, and negotiate a resolution of work issues
• Proven ability to work independently to coordinate and solve moderately complex technical data management issues
• The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment
• A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
