The Senior User Experience (UX) Architect ensures digital products are easy to use, offer best-in-class design, and are crafted with a user-centered design approach. They understand the vision, objectives, and transformation roadmap of a product, and collaborate with business, technical, and product leaders as it evolves. This role is a team leader, hands-on contributor who also actively influences all aspects of the product to achieve an exceptional user-centered outcome by delivering User flows, Sitemaps, Wireframes and other industry standard Architect deliverables as needed.

Position CompetenciesThe successful incumbent has strong time management, excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills. Strong influencing and negotiation skills and be organized and analytical.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Helps teams define and shape the experience strategy, facilitating work sessions with stakeholders and users to define key design goals and requirements.
  • Guides other Architects and Designers on design strategy related to research insights, design execution.
  • Works with Product Owners and UX Researchers to ensure regular user feedback and testing sessions occur to inform the product direction.
  • Contributes to strategic decisions around product definitions and roadmaps.
  • Owns the end-to-end architecture across multiple features and projects.
  • Provides implementation guidance to engineers and ensure features launch at the highest quality bar.
  • Designs elegant systems and user flow diagrams to illustrate the user experience.
  • Utilizes, influences, and contributes to the company Design System.
  • Acts as an advocate of customers throughout design and development of products.
  • Understand. the market, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
  • Develop. user flows, wireframes and prototypes that propose creative solutions to business and consumer challenges.
  • Plays an integral role in user research by collaborating on test plans, evaluating results and providing recommendations.
  • Works collaboratively with Product, Customer Experience (CX) and Engineering partners from concept to completion.
  • Provides usability recommendations based on industry best practices, analytics and user behavior.
  • Contributes to strategic decisions around product definition and roadmaps.
  • Helps product managers assess and prioritize opportunities and constraints.
  • Works closely with product teams to translate business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements.
  • Presents wireframes, prototypes and concepts to cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
  • Leads, mentors and coaches other UX Architects.
  • Applies user research findings to product designs.
  • Identifies and communicates UX Architecture related issues and/or risks that are impactful to the Journey team(s).
  • Utilizes Jira to plan, manage and forecast all UX work.
  • Attends and participates in Sprint cadence sessions such as Sprint planning, daily standups, refinement, and Sprint reviews.

    Requirements/Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in human interaction, interaction design, or equivalent degrees OR High School Diploma or GED with 12 years of progressive relevant experience
  • 6 years of industry experience as a Product or UX Architect
  • 5 years of experience in working through iterative design processes and receptive to feedback
  • 5 years of experience working in a technical environment
  • 5 years of experience working with research and data to drive decision making
  • 5 years of expert knowledge of design thinking principles
  • 5 years of expert experience in prioritizing and delegating work in an Agile framework
  • 5 years of experience with mobile-first experiences and design systems with a demonstrated ability to think systemically through end-to-end solutions with a strong user-centered approach
  • 2 years of experience working on a cross-functional team in enterprise environment

Soft Skill Requirements:Experiencing coming into challenging projects with conflicts between application development and UX focus. UX being brought into the project late in the project. Developing a UX vision on a program which is in flight, without a UX vision. Working with interconnected apps. Working with stakeholders. Great communicator. Translate vague vision to something that is usable.
