Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our client within the Government sector in ANN ARBOR, Michigan. The role involves a variety of accounting tasks, focusing on areas such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger management. Responsibilities: Execute and maintain all aspects of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy Manage the general ledger, ensuring it's accurate and up-to-date Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process Use Great Plains (GPAC) for various accounting tasks Contribute to non-profit accounting tasks, as required Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger management Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries accurately Experience with Month End Close procedures Knowledge of Non-profit Accounting principles and practices Proficiency in using Great Plains (GPAC) software Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role in the Government sector Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
