Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in the healthcare industry, located in New Baltimore, Michigan. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity where you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing daily reconciliations, and participating in the month-end close process. You will also be involved in various projects related to process development and system implementations.Responsibilities: Prepare daily reconciliations for multiple bank and credit card accounts across various entities. Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger through regular account reconciliations. Participate actively in the month-end close process, including handling fixed assets, accruals, prepaids, and inventory. Maintain lease amortization schedules in compliance with ASC 842. Verify that invoices associated with accounts payable are charged to the appropriate accounts and research proper classification of miscellaneous transactions. Generate and analyze financial reports using Sage Intacct. Provide assistance to management during annual audits by maintaining and gathering necessary account information and supporting documents. Keep abreast of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Assist with projects such as process development and system implementations. Requirements Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar role. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory. Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes. Experience in maintaining and managing the General Ledger. Ability to prepare and handle journal entries. Experience in performing month-end close activities. Proficiency in using Sage Intacct software. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines. Must have a strong ethical stance towards the confidentiality of financial information.
