The Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital will give our community its first-ever wellness destination. Our families and friends will have improved access to nutrition education, exercise resources and state-of-the-art care like they never have before. We offer over 200,000 square feet and has 58 acute cate beds in our new state-of-the-art regional hospital. Our campus also features an organic farm with access to nutrition, education and therapies. We are excited to set a new standard for health and wellness in Lenawee County.Position Summary:Makes appointments and schedules surgical procedures according to established guidelines. Provides clerical support to clinical staff. Keeps statistics and records of departmental activity. Processes charges and patients’ bills, keeps charges up to date.Job Requirements:Education: High school diplomaSkills: Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language. Must be able to communicate in person, and have basic written communication skills. Must be able to operate a computer, word processor, and general office equipment. Must be able to maintain logs, records, and organize information. Must be able to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas. Must demonstrate a high level of mental and emotional tolerance, with ability to function quickly and precisely in stressful situations.Years of Experience: Experience as a clerk or file clerk preferredPersonal Protective Equipment: Non sterile medical glovesPhysical Demands: Must be able to carry up to 10 lbs, with occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Frequent prolonged standing, sitting, walking. Manual dexterity required. Frequent multiple demands by a variety of individuals. Must be able to see, hear, and move intermittently, or use prosthetics that will enable you to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Possible exposure to infection and contagious disease. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens from blood and/or bodily fluids. May be exposed to odorous or hazardous specimens. Subject to long and irregular hours.
