Project SummaryWe are setting up IT infrastructure in Data Center, Labs and IDF Rooms in Ann Arbor new campus. This individual will be accountable for the following systems: Windows, Linux and Storage systems that support Engineering Groups and corporate IT infrastructure;Responsibilities on the above systems include System Administration, engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.Top 3 Daily responsibilitiesPerform regular IT support for Engineering Groups.Provide L3/L4 support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and trouble-shoot the issues.Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and connect with impacted constituencies.Additional ResponsibilitiesPerform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of key jobs.Should be able to do Rack and Stack of servers in Data CenterIT-related solutions for various project and operational needs within engineering groups.Develop and maintain Golden Image process and procedure for Windows and Linux systems.Contribute to and maintain system standards and build process to provide support to the End of Life Hardware systems.Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.Identify approaches that use our resources and provide economies of scale.Make sure that all the systems are part of virus scanner solution and get regular update from virus scanner server.Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.Apply OS patches and upgrades on a periodic basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as vital to the health and hygiene of the infrastructure.Perform periodic performance reporting in order to support future planning.Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.Position requires communicating with different functional groups like Engineering, facilities, IT and Vendors.This person deals with a variety of problems. The questions/issues are typically clear and require determination of which answer (from a few choices) is the bestRequirements (these are the must-have skills, experience, and qualification)5-7 years’ experience on Linux, Windows, Hypervisor and File storage systemsLinux - Suse Linux, Redhat Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu LinuxWindows - Windows XP/7/10, Windows server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019 etc.Experience in installing new and rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals and servicesInstall and configure systems infrastructures for Engineering Tool DevelopmentsExperience of supporting engineering users for day to day support in large corporate environmentKnowledge on Virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix and Citrix Xen ServerKnowledge on AD, DFS, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP Networking, VPN, imaging Technologies like AcronisTake direction from the team lead and work within a team-environment to achieve organizational goalsShould have excellent problem-solving capabilityNice to have (these are the preferred skills, experience, and qualification)Scripting knowledge is a plusKnowledge of core Planning, Master Scheduling, Purchasing and Logistics.Knowledgeable and experienced with industry standard methodologies in Production Planning and Inventory Control.
