Systems Engineer Sterling Heights, MI 12+ Month Contract- Onsite Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Discipline required, electrical engineering preferred
- Experience with Requirements Manager (TEAMCENTER) and/or DOORs
- Experience with data bus design and management and associated data collecting tools (CAN, Ethernet, 1553, etc)
- Trouble shooting system/subsystems
- Military vehicle knowledge preferred
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance
Job Description:The System Design Engineer duties include the development of system/subsystem design and requirements, software requirements, integration, and verification test. They shall ensure the design has been fully defined, traceable, and validated during testing down to the components and software requirements. They shall ensure that all of their tasks and quality products are completed on-time. Their roles and responsibilities include:Roles and ResponsibilitiesDefine and ensure traceability of the system and subsystem requirements and software requirementsPerform functional analysis to develop flows and concepts of executionDesign and develop the system and subsystem architecture, interfaces, and design including commonality considerationsDecompose system and subsystem performance and verification requirements, and develop design verification plans and reportsIdentify, define, and manage power, data, and other system interfacesEnsure the system, subsystem, and component interfaces are maintainedSupport managing power and network bandwidth allocations for vehicle functionsEnsure the system design aligns across physical, power, data, and softwareIntegrate and verify the system and subsystem components in the Lab/VehicleDefine and execute system and subsystem integration, test, and verification plansProvide technical inputs to planning, schedules, and cost estimatesAchieve proficiency in one or multiple domains (e.g., Power, Fire Control, Diagnostics, Information Assurance, C4, Software User Interface design, etc.)Strong skills in system/subsystem/software requirements development, design, and testMinimum 7 years of applicable experienceMust be able to write test procedures and reportsHighly motivated performerWorks well in team and individuallyMust be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as requiredStrong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills is requiredAble to work in office, shop, test lab, test site environments, and in vehicles THIRD PARTY AGENCIES, SUBCONTRACTORS, AND RECRUITERS NEED NOT APPLY.
