Department: Patient TransportationShift: VariableDaily Work Times: VariableScheduled Hours per Pay: 0Position Summary:Responsible for transporting patients, specimen, supplies, and equipment to and from patient care areas. Assists patients in walking, transferring from bed to wheelchair (manually lifting patients) and bathroom procedures.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Transports patients between departments and to and from patient care units via wheelchair, stretcher or ambulation as requested.
Assists in other transportation duties as requested.
Assists patients or health care providers with lifting, the patient for the next activity (i.e. shoes, clothes, assistive devices).
Signs patient off and back on patient care unit and checks patient’s wrist band before transporting.
Maintains chart with patient during transportation and keeps record of where the chart and patient are located at all times.
Protects patients by appropriate positioning and safely transporting.
Maintains oxygen supply and wheelchairs.
