Windows and VMware Support Specialist

. The right person for this position will have high energy, a positive attitude, and a high attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to success.

The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in the oversight of the Windows and VMware Administration Support teams.
  • Develop an understanding of the current VMware architecture and Windows configuration, suggest and implement areas for improvement.
  • Take ownership of the Windows and VMware problem records to perform root cause analysis, develop corrective actions, and follow through with execution and closure.
  • Assist in the review and approval of change controls.

Position Requirements:
  • Strong experience with Windows and VMware system administration
  • Knowledge of Windows patching, patch cycles, and execution methods
  • Knowledge and ability to navigate VMware virtualization, including storage and network components
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for a complex infrastructure and application environment
  • Experience in operational incident management (aka tickets)
  • Core competency of infrastructure components such as servers, storage, network, middleware, database, and applications
  • 5 years of experience working in Windows and VMware support
  • Self-starter and able to work independently without strong supervision

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with HCI (hyperconverged infrastructure) solutions, Nutanix in particular
  • Project management experience working on multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience in developing documentation for product certifications and proof of concepts
  • 5 years of experience working in IT infrastructure
  • Ability to read and understand infrastructure and application architectural diagrams
