Description Robert Half is looking for an Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary opportunity with a fast-growing company. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Saint Paul, Minnesota region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Major responsibilities
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Proficient in ERP systems
Strong familiarity with account reconciliation
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Automated Payroll experience
Automated billing experience required
Experience with Accounting Functions
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to meet deadlines
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
