Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity with a non-profit organization in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota. The role is an Accounts Payable Specialist, providing vital financial support and ensuring the smooth operation of the accounting function within the organization. Responsibilities: Managing and processing accounts payable in a timely and accurate manner Utilizing accounting software systems to maintain financial records and reports Regularly working with software such as Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Microsoft Excel Performing check processing and data entry tasks as required Resolving any discrepancies in the accounts payable process Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding accounts payable matters Demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting functions and principles Monitoring and reconciling customer credit accounts as needed Collaborating with other teams and departments to streamline and improve the accounts payable process Continually updating and improving accounting skills and industry knowledge.Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) is preferred Familiarity with IBM AS/400 and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Proficient in Microsoft Excel Understanding of Accounting Functions Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Check Processing Ability to perform Data Entry tasks with accuracy Ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies in financial records Previous experience in a local government setting is beneficial Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently as needed Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
