This position requires the understanding of people, process and technology with a heavy focus on removal of non-value-added activities. Lead a team of Disability/Absence Management claims professionals to deliver a best-in-class customer experience while removing obstacles

Work with cross-functional teams, including operations, technology, sales and product, to develop and manage end-to-end operational readiness implementation planning and delivery

As a leader of leaders, you must be able to skillfully delegate key responsibilities while holding a high degree of accountability for your management team

As informed by both voice of the customer and voice of the employee, collect and analyze data to identify process improvement opportunities and develop practical alternatives to complex situations as the organization looks to more closely integrate a true absence management operation

Provide recommendations to leadership and drive solution execution design as identified by strategic initiatives

Be change ready with a willingness to design, execute and measure sustainable change within your org.

Maintain detailed operational metrics reporting for your business unit to readily communicate on observed trends, highlight best in class staff and identify staff in need of coaching and development focus

Ensure that all performance metrics are met with a high standard of quality, execution and customer-centric focus

Provide cross-functional insights to improve the full end to end customer and member experience

Establish/apply quality objectives, criteria, standards and levels using appropriate quality management methods, with stakeholder input (e.g., key performance indicators, scope definition) that will optimize the client and member experience

Provide process subject matter expertise to business partners, as needed

5+ years of progressive leadership experience within a Disability/Absence Claims Operation (carrier or TPA)

Experience in building high performing teams through a shared vision and team empowerment

Expertise with Disability/Absence benchmarking and best practices

Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in complex, matrix organizations with proven ability to influence course of action when others are directly accountable for outcome, including cross-functional teams

Proven excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills, and ability to balance multiple deliverables, meet deadlines and manage to schedule

Proven excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proven solid presentation and meeting facilitation skills

Proven ability to work independently and as a team player productively and proactively in a dynamic, fast-paced and constantly changing environment

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
