AUTOMATION ENGINEER, CYBER SECURITY

OVERVIEW:

As a member of Cyber Security Engineering & Operations team, you will be responsible for new development and automation across a wide range of cyber security platforms and projects. We will empower you, whilst you leverage your creativity to propose and implement code optimized services and integrate solutions with existing cyber security controls and capabilities, while keeping up to date on new and emerging technologies. You will be accountable for developing solutions, recommending optimizations of current services, maintaining existing platforms and services, and providing technical support in service the advancement of our security automation capabilities. A successful candidate will possess strong learning agility, keen intellectual integrity, and a robust background in automation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Innovate
  • Partner with key team members to develop innovative solutions and automate existing services
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and execute against security automation priorities
  • Support the introduction and use of automation/development standards and best practices
  • Develop efficient, scalable, and sustainable solutions to cyber security centric business and operational problems
Communicate
  • Promote secure design and automation practices through advocacy
  • Create, cultivate, and share unique ways of solving challenges through automation
  • Share your understanding of how changes and enhancements may impact existing data, workflow and/or functionality
  • Interface with a wide variety of stakeholders using audience tailored language
Operate
  • Use systematic problem-solving to continuously improve existing platforms and software solutions
  • Leverage programming expertise to design, develop and maintain object-oriented code
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to maintain, enhance, and support key cyber security solutions and platforms
  • Develop, maintain, implement, and adhere to development standards and strategies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience writing, managing, and deploying high quality, reusable software
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience managing source code using version control systems like Git
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communications skills
  • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, etc.
  • Minneapolis/Remote Eligible

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Desire to learn, solve difficult challenges and have fun while doing so with code
  • Ability to participate effectively on a global cross-functional team
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, SIEM technologies, Splunk, QRadar, firewalls, and logging tools
  • Experience automating across multi-region security infrastructure and cloud environments
  • Experience with Terraform, Docker, Linux, and other open-source projects
