This is an opportunity to join the Behavioral Health B2B Marketing Team, supporting the Medicaid and Medicare segments. In this position, you will:

Work with passionate clinical and product experts who are building mental health solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Partner with business leaders local market teams to understand the nuances of the political landscape and business opportunities in each market in order to support the sales team and growth goals.

Create compelling marketing strategies and thought leadership content to engage and influence decision makers in the state government space.

The ideal candidate for this role has experience in marketing health care products to Medicaid and Medicare solution buyers (as opposed to health plan members or consumers).You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain a deep understanding of the Optum Behavioral Health business and product solutions in support of the Government segment (Medicaid and Medicare), and apply this knowledge to develop product positioning, marketing content and sales materials

Partner with the product team to support the product development process from ideation to launch

Work with our passionate clinical, product and business experts to develop compelling thought leadership content (white papers, webinars/presentations, case studies, infographics, e-books, etc.) that positions Optum Behavioral Health as a leader in the market

Partner closely with the sales team to understand buyer needs and pain points, and the sales cycle. Maintain a working knowledge of the current pipeline in order to target key prospects with thoughtful content at various stages of the buyer journey

Partner with leaders in local markets to understand our current business, become an expert on new opportunities, and understand how the nature of the local political environment and community impacts those opportunities

Collaborate with marketing colleagues to develop integrated marketing campaigns and event strategies that drive consideration and generate leads

Support speaking engagements and sponsored conferences (content development, brand presence, etc.)

Leverage internal and external creative resources for content development

Proactively identify and build process improvements to ensure content freshness, drive sales team awareness of new content, and create efficient and effective cross-functional partnerships

7+ years of B2B Marketing or Product Marketing experience

7+ years of experience leading projects from planning through execution

5+ years of experience managing a marketing budget

5+ years of experience working with external agency partners

Experience with state government, whether in a marketing, sales or other support position

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or a related field

B2B marketing experience in the health care field

Experience with state government, whether in marketing, sales or another support position

Proven excellent communication skills with an ability to provide clear direction and actionable feedback on copywriting and design

Demonstrated success creating and implementing product marketing strategies including product positioning and sales enablement
