Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Business Development- Construction Specialist''s responsibilities include meeting and exceeding their assigned geographic territory forecast. This will be accomplished by energetically pursuing new sales opportunities, working with their architects, casework dealers, general contractors, real estate developers, project managers, lab planners and corresponding Laboratory Equipment Representative to drive sales. The Business Development- Construction Specialist will also be responsible for developing and continually updating effective written strategic business plans for their assigned region to ensure that we are growing our market share at the defined growth rate. The Business Development- Construction Specialist has additional responsibility for seeking out new business potentials for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s other divisions and engaging all appropriate sales personnel to achieve maximum results for the company in total.Key Responsibilities:

Represent the total laboratory equipment portfolio in assigned geographic territory by using outstanding selling skills to exceed pre-established territory forecasts.

Partner with their Laboratory Equipment Representative to look for and close construction opportunities. Construction opportunities to include new construction, renovations, and expansions.

Continually promote Thermo Scientific’s breadth of product offerings on all sales calls to achieve maximum client solution opportunities and greater sales potentials for the company.

Develop detailed business plans for their assigned geography in order to achieve required sales growth. To be reviewed quarterly with the US Manager, Business Development- Construction.

Establish business relationship with architects, casework dealers, general contractors, real estate developers, project managers and lab planners in order to grow our new construction opportunity pipeline.

Participate as a team member in all assigned corporate and focus account initiatives.

Participate in pipeline review calls with assigned regions.

Consistently update the company CRM sales funnel reports of projected bookings to assist in monthly company sales forecasting and product build plans.

Provide commitments of encouraged bookings on a monthly and quarterly basis and assume ownership of accuracy.

Energetically pursue construction selling opportunities and accurately identify on all quotation submittals.

Control expenses against pre-established budget and submit required reports on a timely basis.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in the Life Sciences.

Minimum of 5 years of highly successful laboratory sales experience or experience in the laboratory construction market.

Must have a confirmed understanding of the construction industry.

Must have an outstanding understanding of our markets and be knowledgeable of diverse laboratory product applications.

Solid understanding of assigned account base.

Outstanding analytical capability and problem-solving skill.

Ability to work in a team environment and influence others to achieve results.

Self-motivated with bias for action.

Excellent interpersonal and persuasive communications abilities.

Substantiated capability to effectively communicate and close business.

Evidence of professional presentation skills.

50% travel.

Willingness to travel to accomplish assigned goals.
