Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Clinical Services is currently sponsoring the buildout of a new system called the Policy Integration Management System (PIMS) which will make the maintenance and utilization of prior authorization information, as well as the policies and guidelines it is based upon, much more efficient for the organization.We are searching for a meticulous Business Operations Analyst to join our team, who will ensure that our prior authorization system remains functional and operational and meets / exceeds the expectations of our users. This person will execute / monitor recurring reference data loads, as well as cyclical reports and extracts, help to address any bugs surrounding new deployments, and research and assess any underlying data issues. This individual will also leverage the information within the system to generate custom extracts / reports that will help craft the story around the maintenance, performance, prediction and outcomes of clinical prior authorizations as well as the policies and guidelines they are based upon. This individual will also work directly with users of the system and our development team to ensure that the feedback, received from the end users of the system, is taken into consideration, as our system is further developed, refined, and enhanced.To succeed, the person filling this position will need to adopt a sense of ownership over the operational components of PIMS and work to ensure the system remains functional, performs as expected, and meets / exceeds the needs of our users. This individual will need to have a natural desire to go beneath the surface of issues to ask the right questions and contribute to solutions by digging into large data sources and applying statistical rigor. The ideal candidate will have a knack for thinking “Big Picture” as well as enjoy digging into the details.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

Monitor, execute, maintain, and test various components of our system (front-end, interfaces, extracts, reports, dashboards, etc.)

Act as a first line of defense to research and assess any issues that may arise and identify the root cause

Assist the development team in required modifications to various system components in order to address any operational issues

Prepare documentation, training material, and presentations and participate in training sessions and meetings with end users and leaders to ensure the user community knows how to leverage PIMS to make their jobs easier

Build working relationships with end users and work to bring new users up to speed on how to utilize the system

Present complex data to non-technical end-users in a clear and concise manner through reporting visualization tools to help them make sense of the data

Design, build, test, deliver and maintain comprehensive data analysis, extracts, reports, and dashboards for various stakeholders and team members

Collaborate with and advise operational leaders to define and deliver Key Performance Indicators, benchmarks and trending metrics needed to operate the business

Independently identify patterns and trends and provide new insights to the business

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, specialized training/certification, OR equivalent work experience

2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, facilitating and documenting requirements (such as process flows, test cases, and/or business requirement documents) gathered from both business and IT counterparts

2+ years of experience working with Databases, SQL

Proficiency with Structured Query Language (SQL)

Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database skills

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of data analytics experience, healthcare analytics

MS Power BI experience and/or utilizing other BI visualization tools

Knowledge of healthcare administrative data (medical claims, enrollment, provider data)

Solid knowledge of extracting and developing key consumer insights within a population, distilling insights, and presenting to business leadership

Proficiency and understanding of IT management, data storage structures and the various ways data can be applied to aid in business intelligence

Soft Skills:

Intuitive, self-starter with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Versatility / flexibility - our work is ever evolving - not static - and requires someone who can flex and shift with changing priorities and business needs

Solid organizational skills, time management and critical thinking skills

Solid verbal and written communication skills, ability and comfort presenting to senior leadership
