CNC Machinist Wannabe Wanted! Mills/Lathes

Are you currently an Operator in a machine shop, pushing the green button all day, but want to be a full fledged CNC machinist?

Are you tired of just being a number and running production all day, every day?

We are seeking someone with some machine shop experience who wants to be a CNC Set-Up/Operator who will set-up, edit programs and operate CNC Mills and Lathes. You will also learn CAD/CAM Programming!

As an Operator, CNC Machinist trainee, you will learn to do the following with hands on experience:

-Set up new and repeat jobs, troubleshoot and edit programs as necessary, complete required minimal paperwork, communicate with co-workers regarding production of parts, maintain quality and safety standards. Work as a team member.

Our current hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday thru Friday, although we can be flexible with the hours.

Machines we currently have:

(1) Doosan DNM4500 VMC

(1) EXCEL 810 VMC

(1) Kitamura MyCenter 2 VMC

(1) Daewoo Puma 8HC CNC Lathe with 8" Samchully Chuck

(1) Doosan Lynx 220C CNC Lathe with 8" Samchully Chuck

(1) Hyundai Kia SKT250 CNC Lathe with Live Tooling

(1) Hyundai Kia SKT1L CNC Lathe with 8" Samchully Chuck.

All machines have FANUC controls.

We run a variety of parts made of plastic (acetal, nylon, teflon, etc) steel, stainless steel, aluminum and tool steel. We do not run any tiny microscopic parts and don't run any huge heavy parts.

CNC Machinist Job Responsibilities you will be taught;

- Print interpretation and understanding of measurement and part tolerances. GDT symbols and what they mean!

- How to Load programs into CNC machines. Program/edit by hand at the control.

- How to Prepare vices and other work holding tools.

- How to Set up machines with correct tools and fixtures. Preparing, loading and touching off tools.

- How to Locate and verify proper raw material.

- How to Follow, create, and help maintain work instructions, complete required daily paperwork.

- Identify opportunities to reduce machining time through process and program improvements.

- How to Run parts, perform offsets and troubleshoot.

- How to Perform in-process inspections of the parts being run. Monitor part quality; both measurable and appearance.

- How to Inspect part using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, go-no go gauges, comparator, CMM and other inspection equipment.

- How to Monitor and fill machine coolant, way lube. Monitor and empty chip bins

- Keep and maintain equipment and a clean/safe working area. We strive to keep a clean shop.

- Most importantly have a good attitude and the drive to succeed. Be self-motivated.

We opened our doors in 2016 in a 1200 sq ft space in East Bethel, MN with 3 CNC machines.

In 2020 we moved to a 2500 sq ft space in St Michael and bought a Doosan CNC Mill.

In 2022, we expanded adding 1800 sq ft space and purchased a Hyundai Kia SKT250 CNC Lathe with live tooling and a Hyudai Kia SKT1L CNC Lathe.
