Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs, helping them lead fulfilling and independent lives. Your work will involve a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the quality of life for those you support, ensuring their safety and well-being in a caring environment.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, with toileting including personal hygiene.

Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' social interactions and mental well-being.

Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences.

Ensure a clean and safe living environment by maintaining hygiene standards at day support center.

Support clients in participating in community activities and encourage engagement in social events.

Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate program coordinator and Nurse.

Uphold client confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations at all times.

Skills

Certification in CPR is preferred to ensure client safety during emergencies.

Experience in direct support roles is highly valued, particularly in home care or long-term care settings.

Knowledge of dementia care practices is beneficial for supporting clients with cognitive impairments.

Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when assisting clients with mobility or transfers.

Strong cleaning skills are essential for maintaining a hygienic environment for clients.

Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for effectively assisting clients and fostering positive relationships.

Schedule

Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00/hr. (based on experience)

Monday - Friday

Daytime hours only (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)

No weekends or overnights
