The position expands donor financial and blood drive sponsor support of the American Red Cross, provides significant divisional support for major asks and is responsible for growing an assigned portfolio of donors, prospects and blood drive sponsors. This position is responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual attainment of both revenue and blood collection goals with a portfolio that is balanced more heavily toward revenue goals than blood collection goals.This position assists donors and sponsors in advancing the mission of the organization and acknowledging the impact of their giving to the American Red Cross and reports to the Division Development Vice President.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD1: Portfolio Development Family/management: Implements overall fundraising strategy for assigned donor portfolio and/or line of service needs. Accounts typically include: 1) Corporation and/or foundation; 2) 6-7 figure donors; 3) more complex donor and blood sponsor solicitation that crosses region or division boundaries. Analyzes information about potential contributors for Development Family. Makes decisions about which individuals and/or companies to target as donors and blood drive sponsors. Ensures all donor and sponsor activity is reported in Salesforce in a timely and accurate manner.2: Fundraising initiative growth: Builds division capacity to identify, cultivate and solicit donors and blood drive sponsors by providing educational, technical and program support.3: Funds and blood sponsorship solicitation: Directly participates in the solicitation of funds and blood sponsorships from high-level contributors. Responsible for portfolio with target of $1,000,000+.4: Staff management: Is an individual contributor. May have a direct report. Provides guidance to reporting Development Family staff.5: Scope: Regularly Interfaces with executive leadership.The salary range for this position is $123,000- $130,000This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.Y ou will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan based on annual individual and organization performance.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline required. Degree in related discipline can be substituted.

Equivalent experience can be substituted for educational requirement portion of qualifications.

Experience: Minimum seven years sales and/or fundraising experience required. Proven experience in developing strategies for donor retention growth and recapture and proven success with complex requests is required.

Management Experience: None required. This position is an individual contributor. (May have a direct report).

Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational, collaborative, analytical, presentation and communication (oral and written) skills. Good project management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of fundraising database systems (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce.com).

Travel: 25-40% business travel may be required. A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

May require the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds.
