We have 45 beds, see an average of 191 patients daily, and a yearly census of approximately 66,000 and growing! Responsible for monitoring care caring for observation patients and inpatients who are awaiting admission to an appropriate unit.

Provide med/surg nursing care experience within the emergency department setting and the adult inpatitent wing on the 4th floor of the hospital.

Triage patients effectively according to policies, laws, and resources.

Uses the nursing process to provide care for any patient presenting to the department. An individualized plan of care is developed in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team to support the physical and emotional needs of a wide variety of ill/ injured patients.

Prioritizes the care of multiple patients with varied presentations.

Initiates timely interventions to prevent, correct, or minimize risks to the patient.

Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare team to develop and execute a plan of care to address patient presentations to the ED including illnesses and injuries in all age groups.

Provides effective and timely patient/family education related to the treatment plan.

Recognizes and responds to subtle or rapid changes in patient status

After one year of experience in this role, the RN will have an opportunity to cross-train and transition into the emergency department.The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.QualificationsRequired:

MN RN License

Basic Life Support

Associates Degree in Nursing

Willing to consider new grad RNs

Preferred:

BSN or higher

Certification by Emergency Nurses Association (CEN) and/or Advanced Trauma Nursing (CATN)

1 year of emergency department, med/surg, or critical care experience

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
