In this role, you would be a part of the Individual Solutions product development team responsible for supporting actuarial systems for the life and annuity product lines. Within the Individual Solutions actuarial department an associate can expect to be part of a team environment, to work on a variety of projects, and to gain exposure to all areas of the division. This position will focus on the system development and maintenance of new and existing life insurance products.

  • Develop product programming and configuration for the individual insurance illustration and administration systems.
  • For new products and changes to existing products, analyze impacts to the code to provide estimates and timelines for overall product planning.
  • Design, code, and test for new products and changes to existing products in impacted actuarial systems.
  • Provide system expertise for the operations, agile, and product development teams by performing research on production defects.
  • Prioritize questions and issues based on impact.
  • Research and analyze issues to determine root cause and changes needed to the impacted actuarial systems.
  • Design, code, and test fixes for prioritized defects.
  • Support product and system testing efforts by developing and maintaining testing processes and documentation.

    Requirements for Position:

  • Strong academic record in a four-year degree program in Math, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with Excel, SQL, Java, and VBA.
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

    This role has a hybrid work model at our Home Office in downtown St. Paul.

    Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
  • Ability to utilize a phone or teleconferencing platform for up to 2-4 hours per day.
