Position descriptionYou will be part of a core team creating and executing on a strategy for a product or group of products, working with your partners to advocate for and represent patient and physician goals, while also understanding the needs of the larger organization, with the ability to balance both. You will help to build and maintain a team of engaged and forward-thinking XD practitioners, including hiring, onboarding, providing direction, reviewing work, and giving constructive feedback, all with the goal of continual growth and development, both for the team and you. You will be responsible for managing the development of an XD design solution, including working with the product team to identify XD opportunities, managing and prioritizing XD resources, facilitating definition discussions, and ensuring your team creates well-considered, quality deliverables. You will work with XD leadership to maintain, solve for, and complete the common administrative tasks that keep a finely tuned engine going (software license needs, status reports, presentations, product showcases, capabilities assessments). You will build professional, productive, trusting relationships with partners and team members. You have expert knowledge of XD best practices, methodologies, and philosophies, knowing how to adapt design approaches to the context of each project, and how to balance best practices with new ideas and concepts. You have expert level knowledge of common XD tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision, Adobe, and/or Axure. You have significant experience with Agile-based functional teams/squads• You're a strategic leader, conceptual thinker and effective communicator who can clearly and concisely articulate ideas, perspectives, user research, design problems, and design solutions in a diplomatic and persuasive manner. You can collaborate and negotiate productively and tactfully, bringing clarity and priority to new features based on real user needs. You thrive working as part of a collaborative team, both giving and receiving feedback. You are able to manage multiple projects (at various stages) concurrently, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing priorities. This role reports into the Director of Experience Design. This role may be performed at any of our Mayo Clinic locations or fully remote.

Qualifications 10+ years of professional XD experience, including performing hands-on, end-to-end XD work in an agency or enterprise setting required. Healthcare experience a plus; at least 2-3 years leading an XD team preferred. Bachelor's Degree in HCI, Design, User Experience, Interactive Design, Design and Technology, Graphic Design, Media Arts or related field, or related professional experience, required. Your wealth of experience is demonstrated by a compelling portfolio of high-quality design work that showcases your problem framing, research, problem solving and visualization skills. You demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills and an ability to persuasively articulate design rationaleYou are comfortable in a fast-paced, iterative/agile design process. Your working style demonstrates respect, initiative, ownership, transparency, and accountability. You have a relentless curiosity and sense of design stewardship. A have a genuine passion for helping people who need our help the most.

Compensation Detail Required education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $6149.60-$8916.80 based on a full-time position.
