Job Summary:

The Extrusion Machine Operator will operate, troubleshoot, repair, and perform minor maintenance of the extrusion equipment that processes polypropylene pellets into log form. You will understand both the product construction and the machine operation to maximize yields and machine uptime. As an Extrusion Machine Operator, you'll play a crucial role in manufacturing high-quality components that contribute to water treatment solutions worldwide. If you have good mechanical aptitude and enjoy working with machinery, this could be an ideal job for you.Key Responsibilities:Operate and maintain extrusion equipment for processing polypropylene pelletsFollow safety guidelines and participate in safety-related activitiesSet up, monitor, and adjust machines according to product specificationsInspect materials and products for quality controlTroubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipmentKeep accurate records and communicate technical issuesAssist in training other operatorsDuties & Responsibilities:Observe all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules, including housekeeping practicesParticipate in EHS meetings, investigations, and auditsProactively communicate and address safety concernsSet up and monitor machine operations according to standard operating instructionsUnderstand department safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, and production goals; actively engage in meeting these goalsInspect raw materials and products to ensure there are no visual defects; take corrective action as neededPerform checks to ensure accuracy per product specifications, ensure overall product quality, and track in manual logs or computer system to capture deviations and quality traceability dataPerform material disposition on all work-in-processes (WIP) parts as assignedPerform advanced machine adjustments to ensure that proper construction specifications are being metInterrupt machine operation as necessary to correct operating problemsMinimize the production of products that do not meet specifications by quickly taking action and using investigative, troubleshooting, and mechanical skillsAccurately measure work in process (WIP) and finished goods in inches or centimetersCommunicate technical issues in a timely manner to all levels (managers, co-workers, maintenance, engineers, etc.)Assist in training other operatorsAssist with failure and perform regular minor preventive maintenancePerform troubleshooting to solve equipment malfunctionsPerform complete setup, adjustments, startup, and shutdown of all equipment in the areaKeep accurate records and explain any discrepancies, if necessaryPerform any additional duties as assigned by supervisor, facilitator, or lead
