Position Summary/Job Description:The individual in this role will be involved throughout the development lifecycle for the Enhance team with the primary responsibility of leading and developing highly scalable front-end components for the bestbuy.com website using modern JavaScript frameworks along with appropriate test automation, performance, and tools supporting the architecture.

You will:
  • Drive: Work with the team to scope and stage large projects into actionable and well-defined milestones. Lead development workflow, providing work direction for development team through complex development on a suite of applications/programs
  • Enhance: Execute on a strategy and create a more performant, more scalable, higher quality architecture.
  • Lead: Mentor junior engineers and be a technical leader on the team, leading sprint planning, design sessions, code reviews from a technical and process perspective.
  • Expert: Software development lifecycle phases-concept, design, development, testing, deployment, automation, and monitoring practices.
  • Develop:

    Front end components and libraries in JavaScript leveraging frameworks like React JS, Redux, Node JS, GraphQL, and so on and optimize for max speed and scalability.
  • Demonstrate: knowledge of industry trends and look for ways to apply those trends to your products.
  • Collaborate: Work together with a variety of teams across D&T.
  • Innovate: Share and champion ideas that can evolve how we build products.
  • Advance: Learn and improve your own technical and non-technical abilities.

How much time will the resource spend pair programming? Our teams are not setup for day-day pair programming. While being remote, we do occasionally spend < 10% of our time in pair programming.

  • 1+ Years of experience in leading team(s); mentoring, and guiding team members
  • 4+ years of experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (ES2015+, Babel) like React.js, Redux, Node.js
  • 4+ years of experience in unit testing tools such as Jest, Mocha/Chai, Cypress.
