Industrial Painter

Description:1st shift 5:00am - 3:30pm Monday-Thursday and 5am-1:30 PM on Friday OR 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (all shifts can be flexible on what candidate needs!) (2 openings)

2nd shift: 2:00 PM-12:30 AM Mon-Thurs (1 Opening)

3rd shift: 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM Sunday night - Friday morning (sometimes coming in earlier at 6 pm if they are working OT - can be flexible for specific schedules!)Will be painting truck mounted pumps in a large industrial paint shop - painters are utilizing liquid spray guns, and are big into electrostatic painting. Almost all painting is custom and per customer orders. They have lifts on the walls to help painters go up in the air, cannot be afraid of heights.Job Description:

Discuss painting requirements with Lead to assure an awareness of job requirements

Perform training as well as preventative maintenance on Plural Component, Conventional, Airless, and Air Assist Airless spray equipment

Paint trailers, lay out stripes when required, ensuring that paint application is consistent with company standards

Obtain and mix paint ingredients, ensuring that such is mixed in specific accordance with manufacturer’s specs and is the proper consistency and viscosity

Obtain parts or units to be painted using forklift, hand trucks, by driving units into the paint booth or sanding areas

Assemble painting equipment and connect paint containers, ensuring that pumps are properly cleaned and connected

May spray units by hand to insure proper paint application

Continuously inspect painted parts or units to ensure proper coating application and make gun adjustments as required

Clean and repair spray guns and other related items. Replace parts and re-assemble spray guns as necessary. Change paint booth filters when necessary and maintain paint booth cleanliness.

May provide work direction to less experienced department employees

Inspect hazardous waste containers for any signs of leakage at the start of each shift. Ensure hazardous waste containers are properly labeled with ‘Hazardous Waste”, description and accumulation start date.

Accumulate waste daily in waste drum, notating fill date on drum and notify Lead when drum is full

Sign manifest for shipments of waste and give manifest to Lead for appropriate actions

Wring rags (used with thinners) out by hand and place in rag collection can
