OverviewHere at M Health Fairview, Univeristy of Minnesota Medical Center - East bank, we're now hiring for a sterile processing technician and you may be eligible for a $7,500 sign on bonus ! Do you want to be part of an outstanding team? We provide the Operating Room with the surgical instruments and supplies needed for surgery cases. Decontaminates, sets-up and sterilizes surgical instruments. We are a resource for: physicians, nurses and medical staff for the OR Operating Room.This is a full time, evening shift position. Evening shifts: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
Wednesday- Sunday
Training is done during the day shift, Monday through Friday 6:30a-3pm
ResponsibilitiesWorking to decontaminate and sterilizes surgical instruments including preparation. As a team we:
We ensures instruments are available and ready when needed; Completes Sterility Check points on instruments assembled and shipped; Distributes instruments to the accurate surgical case and hospital site; Transports between processing areas.
Maintains OR Sterile Stores and specialty service instrument inventory
Track instruments using automated surgical tracking program
Fulfills all organizational requirements.
Completes all required learning relevant to the role.
Aligns with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures, and standards.
Nurtures a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
QualificationsRequiredExperience
6 months experience in an operating room, medical device reprocessing role or related role OR completion of an approved Fairview Sterile Processing training program
PreferredExperience
Two years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, a Surgical Technologist, or in a medical device reprocessing role
Education
Graduate of a Central Service program, Accredited Surgical Technologist program or Licensed Practical Nurse program
