Laboratory Technologist l- 2nd Shift

Technologist I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Following prescribed procedureswhile performing serology testing on donor plasma and serum including EIA, PCR, and ABO blood typing.  Calculating the results of the tests performed as necessaryOperating, calibrating, conducting performance checks, and maintaining laboratory analyzers and equipmentRecognizing and correcting basic analyzer malfunctions.  Notifying management personnel when appropriatePreparing reagents or media from a prescribed procedureEvaluating media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteriaConducting established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products  Evaluating results of quality control and implementing corrective action when indicatedDetermining performance specifications for new methodsConfirming and verifying results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzersMonitoring quality assurance/continuous improvement programsMonitoring safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulationsUtilizing laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient resultsWriting laboratory procedures conforming to standardized formatReporting test results conforming to established procedures
