This position will be part of the Enterprise Services team, which delivers a full suite of services to state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions, and many central services to local government partners.This position will serve as a member of the Enterprise Database Services Team, the function of which is to provide database administration services to various state agencies and to internal MNIT applications. The job calls for a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator with significant verifiable technical knowledge, skills, & abilities to support for various database environments, including those implemented on Mainframe, but will also include cloud, and Linux, Unix, Windows (LUW). The position must possess the knowledge & skills necessary to work independently, but also the abilities & mindset to function effectively as part of a highly skilled team.This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:

Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies.

Candidates residing outside of Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) require additional review prior to telework approval upon becoming a finalist.

The candidate may be eligible to receive up to a $5,000 hiring bonus! This bonus will be paid in two increments, with the first payment made after successfully passing the probationary period.Minimum QualificationsCandidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of IT related experience in database administration.Experience must include:

z/OS mainframe

Db2 DBA on z/OS (mainframe) version 11, 12, or 13

Scripting

Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the following:

Supporting Database in Mainframe, cloud environment including AWS or Azure.

z/os System Programming experience supporting Database

Database & SQL Tuning

DB2 driver, JDBC, distributed tools support

Physical Database Design - OLTP, OLAP

Encryption

ETL (Extract / Transform / Load)
